Friday Five: Christmas Dresses from LindyBop

It’s a Christmas of firsts for us this year – first one as a married couple, first one cooking our own Christmas dinner, first one in our new flat. So, on this rather special year I find myself asking… what to wear?

Some years I make my own festive frock, others I buy one, but I always like to go full on Christmas cutesy (if you’re curious here are my outfits from 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011). I was impressed with last year’s tartan number from LindyBop (excellent value, brilliant range of sizes) so thought I’d check out their offerings this year. Here are 5 of my favourites…

1. Renee Green Alpine Twin Set renee-green-alpine-print-twin-set-p2446-14914_zoomThis cute swing dress and jacket combo was actually top of my list last year but had already sold out in my size. Unfortunately the same is true this year also, but as of writing this it’s still available in sizes 8, 10, 12, 20 and 26. [Read more…]

See you in 2016!

Screen Shot 2015-12-12 at 18.28.39Hello lovely colourful types, just a quick post today to let you know that I’m now going on my Christmas break! Woohoo! I’ll be back blogging and the styling studio will be open again from the 4th January.

In the meantime I wish you all a very colourful Christmas, and a super sparkly New Year!

(And if you find yourself missing me too much, I will no doubt still be tweeting, instagramming and snapchatting (emilyjayneimage) my way through this festive period!)

Bullring Christmas Bloggers Event

emily jayne bullring christmas bloggersDone all your Christmas shopping? Nope? Me either!! (For those of you who smugly said ‘yup’, think of all the last minute excitement you’re missing out on! Nope? Rather not run around in a frenzy of festive stress? Fair enough.)

But anyhoo, for those who, like me, need a little last minute Christmas Gift inspiration, the lovely folks at the Bullring ran an event last week for a handful of Brum bloggers to showcase some of their festive offerings!

Fab nibbles and some rather spectacular looking cocktails were provided by Chi Kitchen. I’ve not visited this new Pan-Asian restaurant in Debenhams yet, but it’s now definitely on my list of places to try – in fact it was difficult to tear myself away from the buffet and chatting and catching up with some of my fave bloggy types to go and look at the lovely gift ideas! #SecretStylist with House of Fraser

A warning to all Scrooges, Grinches and general Humbugs… prepare for things to get festive here on the Emily Jayne blog!

I simply adore this time of year – celebrating Christmas with loved ones, parties, sparkles, mulled wine, snuggling up in front of a good seasonal movie; but anyone who knows me knows I absolutely LOVE giving and receiving gifts. It’s not just about the stuff (although I’m perfectly willing to admit I like stuff too!), it’s about the thinking of other people, putting a smile on their face, and even the tying things up with a festive bow. (Seriously, I love Christmas wrapping – I sit with a lovely Christmassy drink or two, surrounded by the gifts we’ve bought or made, acres of pretty paper and sparkly ribbons, put some of my fave Christmas tunes on and happily spend an hour or two wrapping away!)

So, when House of Fraser gave me the chance to start the season early by taking part in their blogger secret santa with a difference, how could I say no?! [Read more…]

An Enchanted Christmas at Selfridges Birmingham

Ready for an Enchanted Christmas?

Before I went on my hols I was invited along to the launch of Destination Christmas at Selfridges. Armed with an early morning glass of bubbly (hey, it’s Christmas!) I was shown around this year’s festive offerings and plied with stollen, mince pies and cookies (I know this isn’t a food blog, but seriously, yum! And, if, like me, you have a marzipan-lover in your life, I recommend the marzipan vegetables/sprouts – a funny, quirky gift that goes down very well!). [Read more…]
