Friday Five: Christmas Dresses from LindyBop

It’s a Christmas of firsts for us this year – first one as a married couple, first one cooking our own Christmas dinner, first one in our new flat. So, on this rather special year I find myself asking… what to wear?

Some years I make my own festive frock, others I buy one, but I always like to go full on Christmas cutesy (if you’re curious here are my outfits from 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011). I was impressed with last year’s tartan number from LindyBop (excellent value, brilliant range of sizes) so thought I’d check out their offerings this year. Here are 5 of my favourites…

1. Renee Green Alpine Twin Set renee-green-alpine-print-twin-set-p2446-14914_zoomThis cute swing dress and jacket combo was actually top of my list last year but had already sold out in my size. Unfortunately the same is true this year also, but as of writing this it’s still available in sizes 8, 10, 12, 20 and 26. [Read more…]

Friday Five : Honeymoon Swimwear

friday five swimwear for spring house of fraser

Navy Spots – Boden, Watermelon – South Beach, White – Modcloth, Red – Topshop, Blue Spots – House of Fraser

Yes, I know, it’s February. It’s blooming freezing outside, and I’m showing you swimwear.  However, during these colder months one of the queries I get from clients every year is ‘I’m off for some Winter sun, where can I get swimwear?!’ – luckily this is much less of an issue now than it used to be, when you would have to turn to expensive ‘cruise line’ collections to get out of season holiday wear. I’m not stealing away for a holiday, but I am at that most delicious part of the wedding planning process where we are looking at booking our honeymoon.  [Read more…]

Friday Five – Sprinkle of Glitter for Simply Be

When I heard mutterings that Louise from a Sprinkle of Glitter had collaborated on a fashion range, I got a little bit excited – hopes were raised for a colourful, sparkly, fabulous range of clothing for curvy ladies!

I wasn’t disappointed – the capsule collection for Simply Be is fabulous. All available in sizes 12 – 32,  I’ve picked out my five faves below, but I’m particularly eying up the Printed Flower Dress, which is super pretty, and the Printed Jersey Playsuit which has fabulous splashes of colour, and I think would look fab teamed with opaque tights and navy platforms for a party look this Autumn!

So mega congratulations to Louise on this awesome collection, here’s hoping it’s the first of many.

Friday Five – Beckoning in Autumn with Cath Kidston

It’s September, so I think we can officially begin talking about Autumn. I know, I know, the shops have had their new season ranges flooding in for weeks now, but I can’t stand to think about the end of Summer until August is through – honestly I understand being prepared, but lets not wish away those last few heady days of my favourite season!

Anyhoo, the arrival of Autumn and its grey and wet days is somewhat cushioned by all of the lovely new Autumnal clothing. Dare I say I’m ready for knits and tights?

Cath Kidston is always one of my go-to shops for lovely knits any season, and they have delivered yet again – how cute is this squirrel cardigan? I couldn’t help but team it with some autumnal rose patterned pieces for a bit of print clashing.

Ok Autumn, perhaps we’re ready for you after all!

Friday Five – Culottes from Oasis

This Summer it seems like culottes are making a major breakthrough. They’ve tried a few times over recent years, but never quite worked. However, after seeing Elizabeth from Rosalilium rocking some (and many more bloggy friends since) I’m thinking this is a trend I can totally get on board with. Let’s face it, it’s like a Summer skirt, but without the thigh chafing – what’s not to love?!

They are absolutely everywhere at the moment, but some of my faves come from Oasis who are absolutely rocking it. I particularly want to get my hands on the Tencel denim ones, perfect for traipsing round a festival later this Summer, but I can also see them dressed up with some clogs or heeled sandals…
